Pemberdayaan Wanita Melalui Deteksi Dini Kanker Serviks
Studi Pembentukan Kader Peduli Kanker Serviks, Sosialisasi, dan IVA Test Gratis
Abstract
Kanker serviks yang disebabkan oleh virus HPV (Human Papilloma Virus) merupakan penyebab utama kematian wanita akibat kanker di negara berkembang, khususnya Indonesia. Kanker serviks dapat dicegah dengan deteksi dini. Namun, kenyataannya hal ini kurang disadari karena pemahaman dan motivasi yang kurang. Pembentukan kader peduli kanker serviks merupakan metode efektif yang dapat meningkatkan pemberdayaan wanita melalui upaya deteksi dini. Tujuan: Sebagai upaya pemberdayaan wanita agar menyadari kesehatannya dan mau melakukan deteksi dini kanker serviks secara sukarela. Rancangan/Metode: Kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat yang dilakukan di Dusun Karang Lo Argomulyo Cangkringan Sleman DIY ini bekerjasama dengan Puskesmas Cangkringan. Kegiatan ini diawali dengan pembentukan kader peduli kanker serviks sebanyak 10 orang yang kemudian diberikan pelatihan tentang materi deteksi dini kanker serviks. Selanjutnya kader memberikan penyuluhan kepada ibu-ibu pasangan usia subur sebanyak 47 orang serta dilanjutkan dengan pemeriksaan IVA (Inspeksi Visual Asetat) gratis oleh petugas Puskesmas Cangkringan. Hasil: Terbentuknya 10 kader peduli kanker serviks serta telah dilakukan pemeriksaan IVA pada 47 orang ibu-ibu pasangan usia subur. Kesimpulan: Kader peduli kanker serviks memberikan pengaruh persuasif terhadap pemberdayaan wanita dalam melakukan deteksi dini kanker serviks.
